“And all I offer here is the distilled poetry of my existence…”
Claude McKay, Poet Laureate of Jamaica, 1889-1948

I have been a reporter since 1998, covering mainly business and politics. My work has appeared in publications in Canada, the U.S. and Jamaica, including the Associated Press, the Guardian and the Ottawa Citizen. I have also capitalized on the many skills journalism requires to become an all-around communications specialist. My clients have included both the public and private sector, non-profit and academia.

I also work for 18 Degrees North, for which we won a Press Association of Jamaica award for Electronic story in 2015.

I am also a part-time journalism lecturer at the University of Technology.

  1. Hey Kate. Just seeing your blog and I love it. Just to let you know that you inspire me and I read some of your works and I want to do print journalism and you have given me the inspiration that I lost.

  2. Hey Kate! I hope all is well with you and the family. I am in Jamaica. Where can I get some great natural juice on the island. Looking forward to hear from you.
