This morning, Grace Kennedy (a major company here in JA) hosted its fifth annual 5K Run. It benefits promising youth who do not have the financial means to attend tertiary education. We heard from a young man who has benefitted prior to the race. We also stood for anthem and then we were off! Apparently, 6,000 runners and walkers took part, which is a huge number for these road races. I somehow managed to come in at 23:33. My best time has been 26:11, but that is for a distance of 5.3 KM, while this race was 5 KM exactly. It was a beautiful, calm day and the route took us through the downtown streets. The harbour was the flattest I have ever seen it and the sunshine was hazy but strong. It was a great race. Tomorrow, there will be lots of pictures from the CVSS Summer Games, stay tuned!
