It is Canada’s birthday today, the country is 147 years old. Having lived in several countries now, including the U.S. for a few years, I can say that one thing that defines Canada is how it is NOT the U.S. This is inevitable, living in the shadow of a cultural superpower, and it partially shapes the identity of our beautiful nation.
