You see just about everything travelling on the roads here. People use whatever they can to move around and transport things here and there. What concerns me the most are children (with no helmets) being carried on bicycles and gardeners moving their massive blades and weed whackers around. Here is an example, although it is lovely, of this regularity.

Maximum speed of that bicycle is like 10 kmph, the little is safe than she would be in a car. More people should ride bikes to school, it encourages a healthy lifestyle and is super efficient.
It is true that more people should ride bikes but if the children are riding like this without a helmet or proper seat they are not sufficiently protected.
Helmets are not gonna save you if you are hit by car. The child is gonna be fine. Too many things nowadays is wrapped in silly feel good safe guards that are nothing but placebos that are propagated for no reason – other than talking point. Next thing you have people calling for helmet legislation.
Owen you have a point. And there is helmet legislation where I’m from in Canada lol. Many people disagree with it.
A mom is better than any helmet
We see the choices people have to make played out in different ways. Bus fare @ $30 a child x 2×5 (maybe) or bike them unhelmeted to school?
Exactly. They simply can’t afford bus fare so getting them to school on a bike is a more attractive, calculated risk.
Today’s Clovis cartoon on point.
