A wonderful coloring book by a local artist and entrepreneur. It shows different career paths for girls. My daughter and I read it together before she “decorated” it. A tool against a world that teaches girls to want to be princesses when they grow up.

JOURNALISM!!!

One of the assignments for the Media Ethics and Legal Issues class I am co-teaching was to do a presentation on a legal scenario a journalist or citizen might face. This group went an extra step and wrote a dub poetry piece about journalism. It is amazing. Journalism needs some cheers right about now.

Tata and the Big Bad Bull

Juleus Ghunta is a local author who has just completed his Master’s degree. He has also written a lovely children’s book called Tata and the Big Bad Bull. We read it the other night, and it received the highest compliment from my daughter: “Mummy, what happens next?” she said as we were reading and turning the page. It is a tale of courage and ingenuity and I highly recommend it.
