Imagine if every day the media kept emphasizing your natural beauty and achievement, there would be no bounds to your accomplishments. Well, this is what Europeans get every day! So next time you fantasize about your ideal mate, ask yourself, “Where did you come from?” Examine your perceptions of beauty to people with lighter or darker complexions or those with long or natural hair. Our negative perception of natural black beauty is so ingrained it will take huge efforts to throw off this miseducation.

I love this quote from Watergate journalist Bob Woodward. He said this at a recent conference after reading papers from Yale students on how they thought a modern-day Watergate would unfold differently as a result of the use of the Internet.
