This was the gorgeous view during the UWI 5K yesterday. It was my first race post-baby and my time was shockingly good, considering I started 10 minutes late and that I spent the first couple of minutes shepherding children. My neighbor pushed my daughter in the stroller and I ran with some children from the community of Maxfield Avenue that she had brought at the beginning of the race. The children had promised they could run the entire course, but alas, their enthusiasm waned after a few minutes and they started walking together. I forged on, so fast (for me) that I thought the course was a kilometer short when I saw my time. In any case, it was good to be back out there, not taking my fitness for granted and able to enjoy this unique and gorgeous view.
