The Windrush issue, in which Caribbean immigrants for whatever reason did not become “official” residents of the Ü.K., is flaring up again. Over the past few years, several elderly were forced, or narrowly escaped being sent back to their birth place. Now the government is refusing a meeting with ambassadors of the respective countries. There have been some more positive developments since this report, thankfully. The thing is that this generation came over as British citizens in what was still the colonial era. Many didn’t understand… Very sad.
