Since I have been in Jamaica, journalism has generally improved in terms of how individuals are treated, the responsibility and sensationalism of the content. Except for the Jamaica Star. It continues to be sensational, exploitative and disrespectful. This is example is irresponsible almost to there point of criminality. A local pastor dispenses advice regularly, and his latest column has people very upset, with good reason, as he is dismissing the crime of rape and telling the victim to stay quiet about it. I would like to know the thought process of the editors who approved this.
It’s unbelievable. Journalism, it is not!
Not at all…
