This is a bamboo tree at Hope Gardens. It is so beautiful there but there is so much garbage. Even with garbage bins, people still throw their trash everywhere. And the bibs are all overturned. I took the kids yesterday and spent much of the time running after them trying to stop them from picking up trash. It is such a shame as it is an oasis in the city accessible to everyone.

There are too many parties and events there, and people don’t clear up after them properly. This is severely degrading the place. It had got better (it used to be like this in the 1980s, but for different reasons) – but it shouldn’t be yet another entertainment venue. And then there is the incredible noise, which is upsetting not only residents but also the animals in the zoo. It is wrong.
It is so sad. Such a beautiful place being taken for granted not to mention the animals
I agree. It’s a special place that has special memories for us as a family – going back 30 years…
