This is the story I wish I had had the time and the venue to write. Instead, my story was chopped from 2,100 to 700 words, although I ran the full story on this blog later on. Nevertheless, this is a fascinating piece from Robin Wigglesworth of the Financial Times about Jamaica and its IMF programs.
Roger did a good job letting people get a taste of what went on behind the scenes (as always in getting country programs to fly), though he maybe underplays the impact of timing & propitious circumstances (eg Maxine Walters’s Jamaican links while Obama’s administration was in power).
