Nothing wrong with dreaming but what’s disturbing is the number of people who seem to think that once they dream it, it becomes a human right. If you want to find out the real Jamaican dream, ask your domestic helper or the people working in your businesses for minimum wage it would probably be something like “My son will get to adulthood without picking up a shot” “only children of the same gender share a room/bed” or “a whole chicken instead of chicken back on Sundays” …that for the 99% is still a dream
Thank you for this striking perspective. It is hard for some people to imagine this way of life. Our dreams are all so different.
The minister who recommend that the youth stop migrating and remain on the island, needs to state how one who has ambitions to make something of themselves can do this is one of the most corrupt country in the world.
